Jesse Weber takes us inside Son of a Saint's enrichment activities, like Robotics Team and STEM in Sailing. These programs offer diverse educational experiences that are integral components of academic support, contributing to a well-rounded educational journey for the boys.

Meet Nikki Martens, our Nutrition Education Specialist. The nutrition program serves as a platform for education and skill-building. Mentees are not just recipients of meals; they actively engage in learning about nutrition, cooking, and cultivating healthy habits. This hands-on approach empowers the boys with the tools to make informed choices about their diet, encouraging a sense of autonomy and responsibility for their well-being

In November 2022, Son of a Saint selected 19 of its mentees to travel to Ghana, Africa. These young men were able to experience an incredible adventure and gain invaluable life experiences along the way. The mentees immersed themselves in Ghana's vibrant culture, interacted with local leaders, and learned about the history and traditions of the country. Son of a Saint travels to Washington, D.C. in June 2022 to immerse themselves in new cultural experiences, college exploration and some exciting company visits.

Son of a Saint mentees take on the Big Apple! In July 2022, Son of a Saint mentees were chosen to travel to New York City, immersing themselves in new experiences, college exploration and some exciting company visits. Featuring a tour of NYU, an exclusive film screening at TIME Magazine and a dinner with Justin Tuck.

Son of a Saint mentees Amari, Jaylen, Lance, and Leo took the reins at the 2024 Louisiana Carnival Horse Show in Covington, La. Special thanks to the team from Cascade Stables in New Orleans and New Orleans City Councilmember Helena Moreno for helping to make this uniquely meaningful experience possible.

As we start 2021, Son of a Saint acknowledges and celebrates 10 years of impact! We also wanted to pause and take a moment to express our deep gratitude for this first decade of overwhelming support.

We're excited to continue growing and welcome 100 new mentees into our family this year. We promise to give them opportunities to discover new passions, form lasting friendships with mentors, and excel academically. We commit to giving them the support they need to become future executives, Board members, community leaders, and strong fathers to their own children.

Quinten joined Son of a Saint in 2011 as the organization's very first mentee. He is now a class of 2020 graduate from Lusher High School and officially an alumnus of Son of a Saint. Quinten is now attending Louisiana State University where he will study coding and computer programming.
